Electrical — the supply upgrade

Split out from heating because it is not a heating topic. The same supply has to carry an induction kitchen, a heat pump, a network cupboard and whatever comes later. It is the one item with a lead time outside your control.

Two things worth noticing as a director

Circuits this project creates

That is a lot of new circuits. Worth pricing a new consumer unit rather than adding ways to the existing one — the board in the photos is old enough that adding to it may not be economic, and a modern board with RCBOs per circuit is far better at not taking the whole flat out when one thing trips.
