How this got put together. The main room and dining room were already fused — they share the 283/284 wall directly. Sar’s Office and the hallway used to be schematic guesses on this page. Now that the hallway is surveyed door-to-door (closing to 3.3 cm on a 24-wall, ~23 m perimeter), it’s placed here by rotating and shifting its own survey so its main-room door and dining-room door land on the main room and dining room’s own already-known door positions — the same trick a surveyor uses to tie a new traverse into known control points. Sar’s Office is placed the same way, off the hallway’s own Sar’s Office door, but is still drawn as a simple box rather than its real 15-wall stepped shape (see its own plan for that).
What’s settled
- Four spaces now share one coordinate system. Main room, dining room, hallway, and Sar’s Office — not just individually surveyed, but tied together through their shared doors.
- The hallway ties everyone together. One continuous surveyed loop connects the flat’s own front door to Sar’s Office, the main room, and the dining room.
Needs verification / still open
- Sar’s Office is still a box, not its real shape. Its rotation here comes from the hallway’s survey, but its full 15-wall stepped outline hasn’t been fitted into this coordinate system yet — only its bounding footprint has.
- The door-to-door fit has a small residual. The hallway’s own survey and the existing main room/dining room fit don’t agree to the millimetre — about 16 cm of adjustment was split across the two shared doors to make them meet. Small compared to the scale of the flat, but worth knowing about.
- Five spaces are still completely unsurveyed: the bedroom, the office (a different room from Sar’s Office), both bathrooms, and the understairs cupboard. None of them are drawn here yet.
- Corner 10 in the hallway survey is a best-fit estimate rather than a confirmed measurement — see the hallway plan for detail. If it’s corrected later, the hallway’s shape and this page’s alignment would both shift slightly.
